But it is not personal. “My friend is my friend, and my job is my job, leadership is leadership. “This unsolicited visit by the NWC shows that in Nigeria, we have hope,and we are connected by the value and the stability of PDP for peace and stability in our party and in our country. “Yes, none of the parties is isolated in terms of crisis here and there. Crises are there, that is why leadership is also there. That is why we have to take the bull by the horn to discuss and look at the constitution of our party PDP. “All the parties must do things by the rule of law. We must respect people, we must put our interest aside, we must respect our diversity, we must meet and close ranks especially when the issue has to do with our party, the PDP.  “Our party has pedigree and most of the development in this country was done by the PDP. “When PDP left, nothing was done.”

The statement reads: “NNPC Ltd Releases Estimated Pump Prices of PMS from Dangote Refinery, Based on September 2024 Pricing “The NNPC Ltd has released estimated prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as Petrol (obtained from the Dangote Refinery) in its retail stations across the country. “The NNPC Ltd also wishes to state that, in line with the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), PMS prices are not set by Government, but negotiated directly between parties on an arms length. “The NNPC Ltd can confirm that it is paying Dangote Refinery in USD for September 2024 PMS offtake, as Naira transactions will only commence on October 1st, 2024. “NNPC Ltd assures that if the quoted pricing is disputed, it will be grateful for any discount from the Dangote Refinery, which will be passed on 100% to the general public. “Attached to this statement are the estimated pump prices of PMS (obtained from the Dangote Refinery) across NNPC Retail Stations in the country, based on September 2024 pricing.”

In a significant development in the fight against terrorism, personnel from the Joint Task Force Northwest OPHD have successfully neutralized the infamous bandit leader Kachallah Buzu, in along with several of his militants in Zamfara state. The operation that occurred on the night of September 12 in Mayanchi village was conducted as a result of a strategic ambush set by the military, based on intelligence regarding the movements of the terrorists. According to intelligence sources shared with Zagazola Makama, the ambush resulted in the elimination of several bandits, including their leader, Buzu. NLC Responds to Ajaero's Detention by Nigerian Officials, Holds closed door Meeting. Joe Ajaero is not a fugitive. His detention is therefore a brazen act of lawlessness and intimidation as he has not been declared wanted by any law enforcement body. “His detention is a brazen act of intimidation and completely unjustified under the laws of our nation. NCC Sets September 14, 2024, as Final Deadline for Compliance with NIN-SIM Linkage. In statement released by Reuben Muoka, NCC Director, Public Affairs. He stated, “The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is pleased to announce significant progress in the Federal Government’s 2020 policy to link all Subscriber Identification Modules (SIMs) to National Identity Numbers (NINs). To date, over 153 million SIMs have been successfully linked to a NIN, reflecting an impressive compliance rate of 96 per cent, a substantial increase from 69.7 per cent in January 2024. “As we approach the final phase of this critical process, the NCC seeks the continued cooperation of all Nigerians to achieve 100 per cent compliance. The complete linkage of all SIM cards to NINs is essential for enhancing the trust and security of our digital economy. By verifying all mobile users, this policy strengthens confidence in digital transactions, reduces the risk of fraud and cybercrime, and supports greater participation in e-commerce, digital banking, and mobile money services. This, in turn, promotes financial inclusion and drives economic growth. “Through collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), the NCC has uncovered alarming cases where individuals possessed an unusually high number of SIM cards—some exceeding 100,000. The Commission also remains committed to working with security agencies and other stakeholders to crack down on the sale of pre-registered SIMs, thereby safeguarding national security and ensuring the integrity of mobile numbers in Nigeria. “To ensure full compliance with the NIN-SIM linkage policy, the NCC has directed all Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to complete the mandatory verification and linkage of SIMs to NINs by September 14, 2024. “Effective September 15, 2024, the Commission expects that no SIM operating in Nigeria will be without a valid NIN. “We urge all members of the public who have not yet completed their NIN-SIM linkage or who have faced issues due to verification mismatches to visit their service providers promptly to update their details before the deadline. Alternatively, the approved self-service portals are available for this purpose. “The NCC also reminds the public that the sale and purchase of pre-registered SIMs are criminal offences punishable by imprisonment and fines. We encourage citizens to report any such activities to the Commission via our toll-free line (622) or through our social media platforms. “The Commission thanks the general public for its continued cooperation as we work together to strengthen Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.”
