Group Lauds Matawalle, Wike, Tunji-Ojo, Others On ‘Renewed Hope’ Agenda Delivery The Frontiers for Accountability and Democracy Development (FADD), a conglomerate of different civil society organizations, has commended the commitment of some ministers in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet in delivering his ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda. The conglomerate includes Unified Nigerian Youth Forum; Northern Youth Council of Nigeria; Arewa Youth Parliament; Guardians of Democracy and Development; Arewa Youth Forum; Unemployed Youth Vanguard; and Arewa Youth Peace Forum of Nigeria. Convener of the coalition, Abdulsalam Kazeem, at a press conference in Abuja on Saturday particularly lauded the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; the Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle; the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, among others, for their efforts in delivering the president’s agenda through their various ministries. Kazeem said in the area of security, Matawalle has given the needed leadership and support to the Nigerian Armed Forces which enabled them to embark on a well coordinated operation that has led to the elimination of numerous terrorists and destruction of their infrastructures. “Notable bandit leaders have been eliminated in these operations leading to a significant decrease in the menace of banditry. Matawalle’s firm leadership has reverberated across the entire length and breadth of the nation resulting in the restoration of peace in the troubled Niger Delta which has helped strengthen Nigeria’s economy with an increase in crude oil production,” he said. On the part of Wike, the group said he has “embarked on a binge of infrastructural projects across the city centre and even satellite towns of the Federal Capital Territory. Residents of Abuja attest to the fact that the magnitude, quality and swiftness in execution of these projects have never been witnessed in the history of the FCT.” The coalition also commended Tunji-Ojo’s for his innovation in the Interior Ministry especially, “the swift clearance of staggering 204,332 passports backlog by the Nigeria Immigration Service in just three weeks,” among others.

Soon after the late political sage, Prince Abubakar Audu died in 2015 or so, and Hon James Abiodun Faleke was denied the right to become Governor of Kogi State by dint of some political abracadabra put in place by his political party, which preferred and produced Yahaya Bello to inherit the votes that Prince Abubakar Audu and Hon James Abiodun Faleke worked very hard to earned, I was one of the leading lawyers that fought for electoral justice for Hon James Abiodun Faleke.That fight nearly cost me my life. Hon James Abiodun Faleke is an Okun man. He is not an Igala man. I stood for him because justice was denied him. Again when Yahaya Bello wanted to disgrace Hon Justice Nasir Ajanah, CJ of Kogi State as he then was, from office, may God rest the soul of his lordship, I was one of the lawyers that stood for his Lordship in his travails with Yahaya Bello as then Governor. Hon Justice Ajanah was not an Igala man. No, he was an Ebira man from Okene. I stood for him because he was being oppressed for doing what a good judicial officer should do. I was not a tribal bigot, then. These buffoons and charlatans giving me bad names to be hung now did not know that I was an Igala man of royal blood. Again, when Senator Ohaire and Rt. He stated this following a meeting with the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the presidential villa in Abuja, where he discussed the agency’s ‘GROW Nigerian’ strategy designed to offer SMEs essential guidance, resources, opportunities, and workforce support to thrive, a statement by the agency on Friday said. “SMEs are central to the president’s mission to eradicate poverty and ensure prosperity reaches all corners of Nigeria. His commitment was evident as we discussed SMEDAN’s GROW Nigerian strategy, which includes plans to create an enabling environment for over 40 million small businesses, collectively providing over 60 million jobs. We are not only going to protect them from inflationary pressures but also empower them to drive down such trends.” Odii said Speaking further, he added, “We will work with sister government agencies to streamline regulations and optimize them for growth and productivity. SMEDAN directs N5bn loan applicants to submit CAC certificate The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria has reviewed the selection process of beneficiaries for a N5bn credit facility allotted meant for small businesses in the country. With the new procedure, the agency has mandated the submission of Corporate Affairs Commission certificate and Tax Identification Number as a compulsory requirement to obtain the loan. The Head of Corporate Affairs, Moshood Lawal, made the disclosure during an exclusive interview with our correspondent on Wednesday in Abuja. The PUNCH reports that last year, SMEDAN signed an agreement with Sterling Bank to disburse loan options ranging from N250,000 to N2,500,000 at a single-digit interest rate of nine per cent, facilitating the growth of small businesses through enhanced financial access. The credit with the target to assist over 10,000 Small and Medium Enterprises has a duration period of 12 months, enabling small businesses to leverage the facility fully. Speaking at the signing ceremony, the SMEDAN DG, Charles Odii, described it as “an important milestone in our efforts to stimulate economic growth and drive prosperity by enhancing SME access to finance. We believe that the financial support, which comes at a very competitive rate, will help SMEs expand operations, hire additional employees, and contribute to an overall upswing in beneficial trade and economic activities.” But giving an update on the issue four months after, the spokesperson said a software application had been developed to smoothen the process and limit human interference on the credibility of the process.
