Proper Maintenance Methods to Extend the Service Life of Elevator Accessories
Construction elevators are widely used in construction. With the continuous development of the construction machinery market, various types of construction elevators have been developed and applied. Due to improper installation and use, as well as insufficient maintenance, especially for top-mounted drive construction elevators and high-speed construction elevators, it is very easy to cause damage to components and safety hazards. In severe cases, it can cause excessive wear of racks or guides, thereby greatly reducing the service life of the elevator and causing unnecessary losses. To improve the service life of the elevator, in addition to correct use, it is also necessary to make correct adjustments and necessary daily maintenance of the construction elevator accessories.
Daily maintenance is crucial to extending the service life of construction elevators. Daily maintenance includes regular inspections and regular lubrication. Regular inspections can timely find faults and hidden dangers, reducing the possibility of accidents; regular lubrication can prevent friction between components and avoid external wear of components.
When performing daily maintenance, in addition to strictly following the requirements in the user manual, the following items should also be focused on:
1. Gears and racks: Frequently check the meshing condition of the gears and racks. When the contact area of the meshing surface does not reach 60% or the meshing clearance does not reach 0.2-0.5mm, adjustments can be made according to 1.1 and 1.2. Gears and racks should be lubricated with oil once a week.
2. Rollers and pressure wheels: If any abnormal or non-compliant operation is found during inspection, adjustments should be made in time. The guide rails should be lubricated with oil every two weeks.
3. Gearbox: For new gearboxes (or after overhaul), the oil must be replaced with new oil after the first 1-2 weeks of use. After that, the lubricating oil should be replaced every 6-8 months. Regularly check the meshing condition of the worm gear, especially the first time the lubricating oil is replaced, pay close attention to whether there are a lot of copper shavings (powder) in the used oil. If so, open the square hole end cover on the side of the gearbox and check the contact condition of the worm gear meshing surface. If abnormal meshing (such as tooth surface scratches, bonding, etc.) is found or the contact area does not reach 60%, the manufacturer should be notified in time for troubleshooting and replacement. For elevators in use, the oil level in the gearbox should be checked regularly. If the oil level is insufficient or there is a leakage, the leaking point should be analyzed and eliminated, and the same brand of lubricating oil should be added. If impurities are found in the lubricating oil or if it has aged and deteriorated, it should be removed in time, the inner cavity should be cleaned, and new oil should be replaced.
