However, if the destination cells are occupied or restricted, Excel returns a spill error instead of the expected output.

Common Causes of Spill Errors in Excel

There are several reasons why a #SPILL! error may occur:

1. Blocked Cells in the Spill Range

If a cell where the result should appear is already occupied with data, Excel cannot overwrite it and returns a spill error.
